Full review of the new 2023 Volkswagen T-Roc R Grid with turbo four, DSG and AWD, including handling, performance, price and features.
Has VW unexpectedly released the performance bargain of 2023? Priced at $54K before on-road costs, the T-Roc R Grid is a bit like a reincarnation of the Mk 7.5 Golf R hatch. It has 221kW of power (296 hp), it’s quicker than its 0-100km/h claim, has great brakes, and an astonishingly good chassis.
This sporty SUV is really fun to drive – it’s more like a lifted hot hatch than a crossover.
The T-Roc R Grid competes with the Hyundai Kona N, Cupra Ateca, Cupra Formentor, Volkswagen Golf R and other sporty hatches and SUVs around this price.
