While we have seen cooling issues with the R9 series in the past, the Windforce Design uses Triangle Cool Technology, three 8mm direct contact heat pipes and three slims fans to keep the heat in check while maintaining low noise levels. This allows for greater clock speeds without downclocking and better OC headroom. The Ultra Durable VGA provides twice the copper of traditional boards, resulting in lower temperatures, better power delivery and higher overclocks. In addition to DVI-I and HDMI connections, the Gigabyte R9 280X features two mini-DisplayPort outputs with one mini to standard DisplayPort Adapter. OC Guru II software is included for OC and fan tweaking, and Gigabyte backs the card with a 3-year warranty.
