It’s a well-known fact that early on in his career in motoring, our very own James May was fired from Autocar magazine. But what exactly happened?

There has been much speculation about what it was that James did wrong. Some say he nicked a press car. Some say they got sick of him constantly getting lost and showing up late to things.

Now, for the very first time, James reveals the real reason he was let go: a prank gone badly wrong.
