What You Need To Know About Grammarly
1. Grammarly is an online editing software that was started in 2008 and has over 7 million daily users and has raised over 100 million dollars to become the premium grammar check service in the world.
2. I would describe it as spell check on steroids. The way it works is very similar to spell check however this proofreading service is much more in depth and includes tip on style, grammar, spelling, plagiarism, and gives you writing tips as well.
3. Who is it for? I would recommend it for anyone type of author or journalist however I would actually recommend this service to anyone. If you download the plugin with Grammarly premium, it will check your spelling and grammar no matter where you are writing (including emails, etc).
4. There is a lot of competition in the editing software and writing aid space however I think Grammarly is the best. While I haven’t used the other ones, I’ve had a great experience with Grammarly and from doing research of other writing tools, this one seems to be the consensus top pick. If you are interested in how to write a novel or how to write a book I think that this tool can be a valuable asset.
5. Easy to use. Another thing I like about Grammarly is that it is very simple to use. Some writing aid programs and software can be difficult. You can learn how to use Grammarly in minutes and learn how to write better as soon as you sign up.
6. A cool thing about the service is that they have raised over 100 million dollars and are regularly updating and improving their service with a team of engineers and linguists working hard to make it the best grammar checker available.
7. As far as the cost, it is affordable, I pay around $10 per month for a yearly subscription and while it’s a little more expensive if you go to month to month or quarter to quarter I think it is totally worth it to improve your grammar.
8. Cons. The one downside to Grammarly is that it’s not perfect and you still need to go through it yourself or have an editor do some proofreading. However it is still going to be accurate the overwhelming majority of the time.
9. Overall. I would highly recommend this service because of its affordability, easy to use, and it will make you a better writer.
